Festivals are Joining the “Safer Spaces” Campaign By Going Dark

UK Festivals - Bestival, Parklife, and more- are pledging to go dark to raise awareness for sexual assault.

According to the BBC, The UK’s Association of Independent Festivals has announced that a slew of music festivals and their websites will be going dark for 24 hours to raise awareness for sexual assault.

In addition to the blackout, over 60 festivals "have signed a charter of best practice to uphold the zero tolerance policy," which will provide services to victims and bring training to staff and volunteers for any incidents at the festival.

The websites are slated to go dark on May 8. More information can be found here
