Water, water, everywhere.

Anyone who’s suffered through a Torontonian winter knows this: Victoria Day weekend is usually a safe time to say the words “spring”, “Electric Island”, and “picnic party”.

And a safe time it is: Electric Island is going down this Victoria Day weekend, Monday May 22 (event link).  Techno-philes and house heads alike will revel in the all star lineup which includes Ben Klock, Joris Voorn, and Eats Everything.

But there was another word in the vocabulary this year, “flood” - something there was a lot of as unseasonably heavy rainfall caused problems around Toronto Island.

Enough so that Electric Island itself, for the first time in years, will not be held on an island. Instead, it will be held at Woodbine Park, which attendees of Bestival 2016 will remember as a sprawling good spot for music-related shenanigans.

There will still be all the usual markings of Electric Island: Body paint, circus performers, various activities, and a broad selection of food + drink. And oh yeah, a whole second stage.

Put simply, it’s one hell of a picnic.

So if you’re feeling frisky, cop yourself a ticket for Monday’s event or grab a season pass for a pretty sweet price.

(Existing ticket holders: Your ticket is still valid for the new location!)
