Today, Roli has announced the latest offering of their game-changing MIDI keyboard series, called the Seaboard Block. It combines the expressive control of their Seaboard lineup, with the portability of their modular Block technology, giving you the ability to make truly expressive music, wherever you are. The company says that it "brings next-generation expressive music technology into the mainstream." Not to mention it looks killer.
Launched last November, the Roli's Block technology has gained international support and won many awards for its simple and fun usability, not to mention the ability to create your own personal setup based on your own needs and style. The Seaboard has been one of our favorite pieces of hardware since it first launched, and having one that is actually able to fit nicely in your bag when you're on the go is a total game changer. Each Seaboard block has 24 keys and can be combined with any of the existing blocks, as well as the also new Touch block, which allows for one to adjust the expressiveness and response of each Seaboard piece.
On top of all this, the new block comes with a suite of software, including the new Equator Player, a program meant for people using the block and a computer together. It also connects to the mobile Noise app, for music making on the go. As if this all wasn't enough, Roli is also launching 6 new soundpacks, including Cinematic, Vintage Electronic, and more.
So how does this new addition to the Seaboard range fair against the rest of the range? Check the two videos below to clear any hesitations.
The Roli Seaboard Block lists for $299 and is available now from all major online retailers. Visit the Roli website for more information.
