Come what May, and May certainly went! Here are some fine and fantastic tunes that we stumbled upon and fell right into love with during the fifth month of this whacky year of 2017!

Washed Out " Get Lost"

The definitive chillwaver Washed Out is back and if the lead single "Get Lost" is any indication of what is in store with what is to come... Then I can't wait to get both washed away and very lost with Washed Out.

Poolside & Fatnotronic "Esperar Pra Ver"

Nothing sounds as summery as anything Poolside does! Off a Brazilian compilation album, this is a true song of the summer that will keep it bumping on the beach!

Grizzly Bear "Mourning Sound"

Gizzly Bear is back, and Grizzly Bears sounds fierce. This new album Painted Ruins is going to do some work when it is released this year. Also, am I the only one that picks up a Beck vibe on this song?

Sasha feat. Poliça "Out of Time"

Two of my favorites come together, and I'll tell ya... It's as good a pairing as wine and cheese.

Broken Social Scene "Hug of Thunder"

I thought they were done! Nope, Broken Social Scene is not done and they're coming back, even with a little bit of former member Feist's lovely voice in tow.

These duders took BBC1's Essential mix one hell of a step further than anyone else. Rather than essential Soulwax or 2manyDJ tunes, the first hour is brand new music all made along the theme of essential!

Lights Down Low 010: Thee Mike B

"Anyone who has spent anytime anywhere in the Los Angeles underworld is familiar the name (thee) Mike B. A versatile DJ/Producer who is as comfortable laying down vibes for models at the pool, as he is drenching crowds in acid bath beat downs and house head heaters. We were stoked to have him behind the decks at Lights Down Low. Take a peek." - Lights Down Low

call the police / american dream by LCD Soundsystem

It might just be 2 songs, but it's the tip of the spear of LCD Soundsystem's full-fledged return. The album is soon to be released and thank god LCD Soundsystem's not just doing a reunion, but a return to fine form!

Sprezzatura by In Flagranti

Okay, this wasn't released in May. I'll admit that I found it in May, but this album is a-MAY-zing, so we'll let that be enough to put in May's top selections!

Shake the Shudder by !!!

!!! is so right. Dancing is fundamentally and always the best revenge. Their new Shake the Shudder comes from a week of jamming in Barcelona, and god damn it's a hell of a jam sesh.

Slowdive by Slowdive

It seems like we've got a whole lot of selections from bands coming back together after long hiatuses (or is it hiatii?)... Well, Slowdive took 22 years, but it feels like it was 22 years well spent.
