Fire At United With Tomorrowland Barcelona Forces Evacuation

22,000 people were successfully evacuated without any reported injuries

A fire at Unite with Tomorrowland in Barcelona has forced the evacuation of all 22,000 attendees of the festival. Part of the stage caught fire Saturday night after a “technical malfunction” according to organizers.

According to the Spanish site El Periodico, no serious injuries were reported, though many were treated for anxiety. Steve Aoki was slotted to perform at the one-day event that was scheduled to last until 3 a.m.

Tomorrowland planned events like this around the world where they would live stream the festival to large audiences and have performances as well from DJs to create a mini-festival experience for those who could not be at the main event.
