The xx, Sampha, Ed Sheeran Nominated For 2017 Mercury Prize
The prestigious Mercury Prize has announced the shortlist for its 2017 nominees. Among those includes are Ed Sheeran, Sampha, The xx and Stormzy.
The prize is given to the best album from artists in the UK and Ireland over the past year. Ed Sheeran’s new album Divide, Stormzy’s Gang Signs & Prayer, The xx’s third album I See You and Sampha’s Process are all included. Other names on the shortlist include The Big Moon, Alt-J and J Hus.
Find the full list below and the winner will be announced in a ceremony on September 14. Skepta’s Konnichiwa won in 2016.
