With each coming music festival there is always the chance to discover new music, to see new artists that you may not know about as well as all the artists you love. With that in mind, we at Magnetic Magazine want to help you get exposed to as artists you may, or may not know, and get to know them a little as well as have them curate a playlist specifically for our readers as preparation for their upcoming festival sets. This is Curated.

First up in our new series is three-time multiplatinum selling producer Gigamesh, as he prepares for his upcoming set at Splash House.

If you could remix or collaborate with any artist throughout history, who would it be and why?

This is a predictable answer, but Michael Jackson -- at least if it were prior to the around the mid-1990s. Everything I've read about him makes it sound like he enhanced everyone's talent around him basically through osmosis. He was also a perfectionist but was always respectful to other musicians. Honorable mentions: Stevie Nicks, Beyonce, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Louis Armstrong.

Who or what are your biggest influences for your music?

This is too difficult to narrow down to a short list so I will limit it to the people I'm most inspired by in the past couple years: Mura Masa, Sam Gellaitry, Sinjin Hawke, Pomo, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Kaytranada.

What's one thing you want to do with the Gigamesh project in the future that you have yet to have the chance to?

I would love to write some songs with well-established singers in the pop or classic rock world. On a more short-term horizon, I'm making an effort to use more sophisticated harmony & rhythms. It's going really well so far. :)

Enjoy this specially curated playlist from Gigamesh.
