Quebec producer and DJ ANGELZ is making his triumphant return to Tchami’s burgeoning Confession label with a new EP Saint Thug II. The new EP comes almost one year to the date that he released the first Saint Thug EP.
The new EP comes in at three tunes, all of them vocal. The EP starts out strong with “So Fly” featuring Kaleem Taylor, who Tchami fans will recognize from Tchami collabs “Promesses” and “After Life.” The beat is strong, but it is the vocal that really makes the song great. The second and third rely on rappers for their vocal accompaniment. “98 J.Lo” is a very acceptable J. Lo stan song and has the toughest beat on the whole EP.
In a statement to Magnetic Mag, ANGELZ recalls the inspiration for this EP and provides an inspirational quite for you to get into the weekend – “no one does me better than me.” No one does you better than you, so go out there and do you damn it.
"As a kid, I remember the excitement I had hearing new Neptunes & Timbo records because it was always new shit and new sounds. I wanted to recreate exactly that feeling because I know in time I'll make an impact as big as they did, the kind that takes the game to a different standard," says the producer. "In some way I feel like it's my duty to keep trying new things & this EP is all new, it's all ANGELZ and no one does me better than me.”
