If you are recovering from a long Bank Holiday weekend or struggling through the last unofficial week of summer in the United States, we have a soothing new premiere to get you on to the next one. UK-born, Berlin-based, singer-songwriter Fin Greenall, the frontman for his band Fink is gearing up to release a new album Resurgam and we have the second single from it, titled “Not Everything Was Better In The Past.”
A soft and reflective song, it reminds the listener that dwelling on the past is not always healthy for you. While a lot of music is based on nostalgia – memories from childhood or broken hearts might make good music, but it can be best to look forward to a brighter future.
“’Not Everything’ is like a moment of raw songwriting from the Resurgam set ... it wrote itself quickly, and the recording is a live take we did late on the recording session.... a celebration of analogue life,” says Greenall about the single.
Fink will release their sixth album Resurgam on September 15 via the R’COUP’D imprint created with the support of Ninja Tune. The LP was produced by Flood, who has worked with The Killers, U2, Foals, Warpaint and others.
