British electro-pop duo, Kaleida, are gearing up to release their debut album Tear The Roots in almost three weeks and we are happy to premiere a cut from the LP titled “Meter.”
Comprised of vocalist Christina Wood and producer, Cicely Goulder, the pair are looking to flip the traditional industry model on its head. "The model where men control everything," says Cicely Goulder, "and there's a woman singing on top of music that men have produced, for men's gratification, is breaking down."
They do just that with “Meter,” a soothing cut from the LP. Wood asks you to “keep the meter running” even when things might be going bad. The instrumental combines delicately layered piano and percussion that match Wood’s soothing voice.
“The track is a homage to personal freedoms - it's playful there is something darker underneath,” says the duo.
“Meter” is taken from the pair’s upcoming album Tear The Roots, which will be released on September 15th. The single will be released tomorrow. The LP will also include their first minor hit, “Think,” which was included in the first John Wick movie and then a cover of Nena’s’ “99 Luftballons,” which was included in Atomic Blonde.
