Insomniac Records, or their sub-label In/Rotation to be exact, has been on an absolute tear recently. They have been consistently releasing quality music throughout the past few months, and today's release is no different. From winning the Discovery Contest back in 2015, to now releasing a 4-track EP on In/Rotation, Baltimore-native Kayoh has steadily been climbing the ranks and garnering support from the likes of Morgan Page, Krewella, and Alex Young to name a few.
This release really reflects the artist's Baltimore upbringing, with a gritty approach to the future bass and trap style he's developed. The first track, 'Flex', is a straightforward and heavy trap tune that is sure to cause a ruckus. Things make a u-turn when the 'Gone' begins, as it's much more fun and uplifting, not to mention it features the vocals of Bri Tolani. This great summer festival vibe continues into 'Muse', which is sure to bring some serious smiles to your face. Rounding out the EP is actually a rather surprising little number, that Kayoh has titled 'Rise'. It's a very pleasant track that really leaves the EP on a high-note.
