Some of you may know Mad Zach for his online finger drumming videos. He can do more than perform in front of a camera though – he can produce together some fire. The latest finds him on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label with a new single “Blackout.”
Mad Zack’s “Blackout” comes over you like dark clouds in a heavy storm. It starts out with sturdy bass and a flurry of snares, before giving way to the distorted bass that seeps into every ounce of your being.
The track came from a new bit of inspiration from fresh studio space and fresh ideas.
“I built and moved into a new studio this spring and this was the first track I got to make in the new space. It came together really fast, and was a total expression of that new studio hype,” says Mad Zach. “Three months of wielding power tools and heavy machinery to the sound of techno and drum & bass had a fair influence on the sound, as its sort of an explosive industrial hype ting.”
