Calvin Harris' “Feels” has ended the 11-week reign of Daddy Yankee, Louis Fonsi and Justin Bieber at the top of the UK charts with “Despacito”. Actually this year's super hit has tumbled down the singles chart in UK, landing on 4 place, while Calvin Harris' tune gifts all three featured performers – Katy Perry, Pharrell and Big Sean – another leader as well.
The highest paid DJ of all time marks his eight UK number one hit. He now has the second highest number of top hits for a British solo artist, coming after Sir Cliff Richards who has 14 such hits.
The songs that have owned the singles list are: “I'm Not Alone” (2009), “Sweet Nothing” (2012), “Under Control” (2013), “Summer” (2014) and “Blame” (2014), while he has had two additional leaders as featured guest on Dizzee Rascal's “Dance Wiv Me” (2008) and Rihanna's “We Found Love” (2011).
“Feels” also earns Pharell a fourth Number 1 place. It's a fifth Number 1 for Katy Perry and a first time at the top for Big Sean. Climbing two places to reach Number 2 is French Montana's “Unforgettable” which features Swae Lee. On Number 3 we find DJ Khaled's “Wild Thoughts”, just before “Despacito”. The top five is closed by Dua Lipa's “New Rules”, which becomes the highest ever chart placing for the female artist.
High Climbers and New Entries
New heights are being reached by Rudimental and James Arthur with the song “Sun Comes Up” which reaches Number 6. Another song that scaled two places to hit Number 10 is “Subeme La Radio” which features Enrique Iglesias, Sean Paul and Matt Terry.
Having a leap of six slots, it's Jax Jones, Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don's “Instruction” that reaches Number 16, while on 17 we find The Script's “Rain” which lifts 14 positions to become the group's seventh Top 20 hit.
J. Balvin and Willy William climb for the first time into the Top 20 with “Mi Gente”, reaching Number 19. Looking down the chart, we can see Yungen and Yxng Bane's “Bestie” which floats six to Number 24.
We also have three newcomers this week: Charli XCX with “Boys” at Number 45, Duke Dumont and Gorgon City with “Real Life” at 36 and Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan with “There For You” at 40.
