What's it like to dine with David Lynch? We imagine coded conversation and aggresive eye contact punctuated by obfuscating puffs of cigarette smoke, a time space warp anchored by an animated entree, with bottomless cups of coffee to aid digestion. You, however, may not have to imagine anything at all.
Celebrity fundraising platform Omaze is offering one grand prize winner a chance to eat cherry pie and donuts with Lynch and Twin Peaks star Sheryl Lee at the director's Festival of Disruption, an annual LA gathering featuring a trans-artistic roster programmed by Lynch himself and featuring "film screenings, art exhibits, meditation sessions, and more, with the entire weekend raising awareness and support for the David Lynch Foundation."
Funds raised through the Omaze campaign will directly benefit the Foundation, a non-profit designed to promote Lynch's sworn practice of Transcendental Meditation. This year's festival lineup includes talks with Lynch and Twin Peaks collaborators including Lee, performances by Bon Iver, TV on the Radio, Reggie Watts and more, a retrospective screening of Lost Highway, and a meditation session with Brian Eno. Oh, and Moby and Shepard Fairey will be spinning records.
Tickets are still available here, and you can donate to the Omaze campaign here.
