If you were on Twitter over the weekend, you would have noticed that internet is on fire with a new meme, “the ting does.” It is from UK comedian Michael Dapaah who took over Charlie Cloth’s Fire In The Booth segment on BBC Radio 1 Xtra to spit some bars. The segment has been a place for UK rappers and grime acts to break through and Dapaah did just that with MC Quakez and Shakes.
Quakez and Shakes take over for the opening segment and seem to lack the confidence to hit the song right on the drop. They do manage to get their track “Balance” (out on all DSPs) in before Sloth brings in a man who is so hot, he isn’t hot – Roadman Shaq.
This is where things get mad and the place start to pop off. The 13-second clip you have started to see around comes from Shaq, scatting like no other has potentially done in the BBC studios. And if somebody asks you take off your jacket, you now have the response. “Man’s not hot.”
Watch the full clip below (Roadman Shaq is at 9 minutes) and a few select memes, including it getting some run at parties, clubs and even a department store. I need to hear it this weekend.
