English producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Corner has been quite active over his nearly two decade career. He was a founding member of Sneaker Pimps, an electronic group in the mid '90s and early 2000s. They broke up and Corner started his own project IAMX. He is gearing up to release his new album as IAMX, Unfall, and we are happy to premiere one of the cuts from the LP, "TeddyLion." He also gave us a list of five inspirational experimental albums that he loved while creating Unfall.
The single is a brooding cut of spacey electronic music. It borrows from techno, electronica and ambient, mixing them together with slow building drums and melodies that grip you until the end when it cuts off almost too soon.
The "TeddyLion" fits with Corner's press shot above. Those cats do look mighty vicious. Or they just want some wine.
In addition, to the premiere, we have a list of five experimental albums that helped IAMX create the album he will be putting out on September 22nd to all stores and then on vinyl October 20th via Caroline/Universal. These are all must-listens for electronic music fans and if you know them, rinse them out again for old-times sake.
