Joe Banfi, Aaron Graham and Chris McCuaig, better known together as Banfi, are a London-based indie-pop group that have been bubbling up for the past two years. They recently released their new single “June” in August, because of course, and now two fresh remixes are coming to make their leftfield pop a little weirder. We are happy to premiere the Jakwob remix for you all today.
British producer, Jakwob strips away a lot of the poppier elements of the original and then switches things up with a heavy, chugging bassline that crosses this one over to the club. Banfi’s vocals still make an appearance, but get pitched and distorted.
“It’s always scary letting someone else take control of something that has been only yours for such a long time, so sometime remixes can be a scary thing! But when we were told that there was an opportunity to work with an artist like Jakwob we were so happy and ultimately super relaxed that our music would be in the right hands,” reveal Banfi to Magnetic Mag.
“We’ve been fans of Jakwob's music for a while and its a pleasure and an honor to be associated with someone so highly regarded in the electronic music scene.”
The remix will be out tomorrow, but until then, stream it below. Pick up the original here and if you are in the UK, Banfi are on a mini-tour over the next few days.
