At Least 50 Dead, 400 Injured In Las Vegas Festival Shooting

The United States and music community are in mourning after the events last night in Las Vegas. At least 50 people are dead and another 400 were taken to hospitals after a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino according to the AP. The fire was directed at the Route Harvest 91 Festival, a three-day country concert that featured the likes of Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Jake Owen and Maren Morris.

The shooting started during Jason Aldean’s set on Sunday night at around 10:08 local time according to police. At least 50 people and another 400 would be injured from gun shots and a stampede to get out of the festival.

Police believe 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada was the shooter. He was eventually killed. Police found up to 10 firearms in his room.

The shooter’s motives for the barbaric act of senseless violence are unknown at this time.

Police are asking for anyone to donate blood to the victims. Also they have set up a tip line for those looking for missing loved ones.

This story will continue to develop as the day and weeks roll on. It is the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by the shooting.
