Concert Review: Mac DeMarco Drives the Crowd Wild at ACL Live at the Moody Theater - Magnetic Magazine
Mac Demarco shows off his fashion with a dad bod and his tooth gap.

Mac DeMarco has made a name for himself since he started his career. DeMarco went from home-made recordings to performing sold-out shows across the globe. Though these days he is a big shot, he still shows off his classic Mac side releasing home-made music videos. DeMarco is known for putting on a good show and always just being himself throughout his performance. Last weekend, fans got to see the one and only open up for The Flaming Lips at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas.

MAC DEMARCO ACL LIVE

It has been awhile since DeMarco has came into Austin, but it was well worth the wait for fans. Of course, he stepped out on stage in his usual outfit: cargo pants, a tucked in tee and some worn out vans. With his latest album, This Old Dog, that was released this past May, I wasn't sure what songs he had in store for the show; thankfully he did a variety of fan favorites.

DeMarco played some hits off his new album as well as some oldies. If you're a hard-core Mac fan, you will know all of the lyrics to all of his songs, and those people filled the crowd in front of him. Fans sang along to newbies like "For the First Time," "My Old Man," "This Old Dog" and "Yesterday." Oldies but GOODIES like "Cooking Up Something Good," "Viceroy" and "Chamber of Reflection" drove the crowd even more wild as classic Mac songs. Towards the end of his set, Mac did 'somewhat' covers of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles," Van Halen's "Running with the Devil" and Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper." He mentioned the band had gotten some tacos at Torchy's when they rolled into town, which is pretty dang cool.
