The end of the year is nearly here but before I wrap up the best tunes of the last 365 days, I have still have one more month to tell you about. That month being the very thankful November which we have here in the States and we owe a lot of gratitude to these 15 great contributions. Especially some of the big acts in tech house that continue to dominate the scene such as Patrick Topping and Solardo who continue to dish out some extra large servings. I also plucked a few tunes from some big full lengths that saw their release this past month like Anja Schnider's new album and the 15th anniversary Watergate album which I borrowed three tracks from. But most importantly, the main course you absolutely have to listen to is my top track pick of the month from Mano Le Tough on the one and only, Pampa Recordings.
1. "YOUR HEAVY HEAD" - MANO LE TOUGH [PAMPA]
The Pampa stable invites Mano Le Tough for a shining debut on what is only their 28th release in over eight years of existence. This newly minted three-track EP is titled Ahsure and it features the especially wonky, floor-centric number that the Irish-born producer calls "Your Heavy Head."
2. "YA DIDN'T" - FISHER [DIRTYBIRD]
Dirtybird appears to be exploring new territory with this newly discovered artist of theirs from down under who takes more of a pumping, big-room approach as opposed to the usual bass-driven four on the floor that the label is known for.
3. "ALL I SEE" - ANJA SCHNEIDER [SOUS MUSIC]
Former Mobilee boss, Anja Schneider just released her first full-length in almost a decade. The LP is fittingly titled SoMe and it's a well-rounded one to say the least as it features different sounds from across the spectrum that reflect her interests and influences including this ragga-vocal house tune she calls "All I See."
4. "MOTHERLAND (DJ T. REMIX)" - LUNA CITY EXPRESS [LAPSUS MUSIC]
Luna City Express just dished out the third serving of remixes for their 2016 LP, Lunation and it includes a few huge remixes. Particularly speaking, this absolutely scorching makeover of "Motherland" courtesy of none other than DJ T. Turn this bad boy all the way up!
5. "NOSTALGIA" - SAVVAS [ANJUNADEEP]
Dim the lights for this one from Savvas, a Greek-based, Chicago-born producer who's track "Nostalgia" found a very well-deserved home on Anjunadeep's 9th mix compilation courtesy of James Grant and Jody Wisternoff.
6. "FALL DOWN (MK REMIX)" - SOLARDO [HOT CREATIONS]
7. "BE SHARP SAY NOWT" - PATRICK TOPPING [HOT CREATIONS]
8. "HOPE" - MATTHIAS MEYER & RYAN DAVIS [WATERGATE]
This brilliant piece of cinematically influenced house music is out now on Watergate's total massive XV compilation in celebration of their 15th anniversary.
9. "AMANACER" - SOLOMUN [WATERGATE]
With it's beautiful swirling melodies distributed evenly across a modernized deep house rhythm, this lead track from Solomun off of the Watergate compilation couldn't possibly escape this month's best-of chart.
10. "EQUILIBRIUM (SIS REMIX)" - MARTIN EYERER & ACKERMANN FEAT. LOU [TENAMPA]
11. "MATRACA" - CANTI & AGUACATE [MUDITA]
Guatemalan duo, Aguacate teams up with Mexican producer CANTI for a very beefy outing that features a big room build on top of an uber-groovy house rhythm. Get acquainted with this one because this just might be your next secret weapon.
12. "MIDNIGHT 20" - SENZALA [PETS RECORDINGS]
Catz 'N Dogz' Pets Recordings imprint have developed a knack for plucking fresh new talent and this latest act on their label is no exception. Their name is Senzala and they are a relatively new London duo who've set aside three super-crisp tunes for the label including this particular one which is ripe with tight kicks, swift rhythms, and hypnotic melodies. Strictly for the underground.
13. "1PM SUNRISE" - RODRIGUEZ JR. [WATERGATE]
Another one of the immaculate tunes featured on Watergate's 15th anniversary compilation is this particular stunner which comes courtesy of one dance music's finest talents, Rodriguez Jr.
14. "PINK PANTHER" - SOLEE [PARQUET RECORDINGS]
15. "MULTIPLY" - RONNIE SPITERI [KNEE DEEP IN SOUND]
This month's final tune on the chart is a total banger which features a cheeky sample about narcotics that you just might crack a grin to while raving your face off.
