Paris Based Artist Benoit Jammes Has Some Nostalgia For Cassette Tapes

Most streaming and digital music stores have released their 2017 year end reports, but Bandcamp likes to do things a little differently. They have released theirs today and it has some standard info, but mostly a lot of pretty random facts, including a bunch about tapes.

They start things off waxing poetically about cassettes and the data backs up the fact that Bandcamp users are big into cassettes. 17,872 tapes were released on Bandcamp this year for an average of almost 50 tapes per day, or one every 29 minutes.

They also dive into other strange piece of data like the most common band names who published their first song on the service in 2017 and new album titled in 2017.
