Mental health may finally be getting the attention it deserves for the public at large and musicians especially. A new 24-hour phone line in the UK is being created by Help Musicians UK to offer assistance and guidance for musicians and anybody working in the music industry.
The service is a part of their Music Minds Matter campaign, which was kicked off after the tragic suicide in July of Chester Bennington, the frontman for Linkin Park.
According to Mental Health UK, the health line is being launched in response to an increased demand for requests for help from musicians. It has seen a 22% increase in requests for help from musicians.
With a lot of talk about helping mental health, it is good to see somebody actually doing something good for musicians and those in the music business.
People in music can call 0808 802 8008 whenever if they think they might need help. There is no shame and has never been in doing so.
