A festival in New Zealand is taking a proactive move against drunk driving. Rhythm and Vines in Gisborne is taking a pretty big step to try and crack down on drunk driving at the end of the festival. It will breathalize every driver that is leaving the festival.
"We want everyone to enjoy their time at the festival but we urge party goers to look out for themselves and their mates," Senior Sergeant Ross Smith said via the New Zealand Herald.
"Drink in moderation and make smart decisions about how you're going to get to and from venues."
Obviously there will be concerns from drivers about being kicked off the site before they are ready to drive. But the festival is a camping festival, so there is no excuse in this case and ever to drink and drive. So if you wanted to spend loads of money on booze, you should have picked up a camping pass. Rest if need be and know that the repercussion of having those few extra drinks will stay with you for life.
