English singer and songwriter, Tracey Thorn, has announced her first album of solo material in seven years titled Record. To kick off the promo for the album, she has released her new single “Queen.”
Tracey Thorn describes the album as “nine feminist bangers” where she talks about different milestones in a woman’s life, moving on from her 2010 LP Love and Its Opposite. “This album represents that sense of liberation that comes in the aftermath, from embarking on a whole new ‘no fucks given’ phase of life,” she says.
“Queen” embodies that no fucks given, liberated attitude as she rides around in the backseat of a car, playing guitar in a hazy and 80s tipped music video.
Record will be released on March 2. It is available to pre-order now in various forms. Fans can head to the Merge Records website to check out CDs or a smoky red vinyl or peruse various independent record stores that will carry the album or their favorite DSP.
