Kendrick Lamar Black Panther Soundtrack

Kendrick Lamar and TDE have released the star-studded soundtrack to Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther movie. The soundtrack features the likes of SZA, Future, Travis Scott, Schoolboy Q and James Blake.

At 14 tracks the theme of the film is found throughout of being a king, defeating your enemies and taking your shot. The soundtrack includes the singles “Pray For Me” with The Weeknd, "King's Dead" with Jay Rock, Kendrick, Future and SZA and “All the Stars” with K.Dot and SZA, which also got an incredible video.

Kendrick finds himself throughout the soundtrack, rapping on five different songs across it.

According to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler (via NPR), Kendrick was only going to do a few songs for the movie, but after seeing it, Kendrick and TDE decided to just do the whole thing.

“At first, he was just going to do a few songs for the film, and then he came in and watched quite a bit of the movie, and the next thing I know, they were booking a studio and they were going at it,” says Coogler.

The diversity of voices and acts, all around a theme with one of the most anticipated movies in quite some time makes this a very unique entry into the soundtrack pantheon and for those involved.
