There is a new electronic music group in town. UK producer Matt Tolfrey has linked up with NYC producer jozif and singer/songwriter DNCN to form a new group titled Kerb Staller. The trio are finally ready to release their debut original titled “Tell Lies.”
The trio combine their strengths on this record and make something a little different and unique from their past works. Relying on the cynical vocals of the song, jozif and Tolfrey craft a track that works in the club setting and also for home listening with a driving bassline and bursts of synths.
“Tell Lies is our first release on Skint, as a group, and marks the start of a big year for Kerb Staller,” explain the group. “The record, in its essence, describes how much we are manipulated by the media, and how this misinformation is used as a weapon. We’re not expecting Tell Lies to bring the system crashing down any time soon, but it felt better to say something, than say nothing at all.”
This isn’t the first work from Kerb Staller. They released a rework of Sailor & I “Paramount” at the end of last year and some tracks in 2014, but now they are back and putting out more music to the world.
“Tell Lies” will be released tomorrow, February 23 via Skint/BMG alongside a remix from Audion and then dubs from all three members of the group.
