Mella Dee is a name that many in techno have come to know in the past few years. He also produces under a few monikers and is now putting out some music under his real name Ryan Aitchison in a three-track EP, set for release tomorrow. We have the A-side “DNS” for you now on a first listen.
It is not for the light-hearted who wanted some breezy, atmospheric techno. This goes right for your core and on a big set of speakers will rattle your bones. Aitchison crafts a heavy, dark techno tune in “DNS” with a relentless onslaught of bass and percussion. This a no-frills techno that gets right to the point and keeps you in its grasp until it is finished.
According to the Aitchison the “Stripped back heavy and raw percussive action on 'DN5' is the postcode I lived in for most of my life so I guess this is a little nod to that.”
This will be released as part of Aitchison's WM004 EP, coming out tomorrow via his own Warehouse Music imprint.
