Just when you thought techno was starting to slowing down, the first month of the year bends over and lays an egg filled with a ton of outstanding techno.

1. "RAIN (DENSE & PIKA REMIX)" - KERRI CHANDLER [NERVOUS RECORDS]

This garage classic from Kerri Chandler's catalog gets a very unexpected, dusty-techno makeover from the duo that is Dense & Pika. Turn this one all the way up!

2. "DAYS GONE" - MIND AGAINST [AFTERLIFE]

Tale Of Us' Afterlife imprint continues its string of excellence by only releasing top-shelf, contemporary techno from heavyweights like Stephan Bodzin, Patrice Baumel, and Locked Groove. Here they are with only their tenth ever release courtesy of the one and only Italian duo, Mind Against!

3. "THE DANSANT" - ANNA [KOMPAKT]

Brazilian producer, ANNA just kicked the door open on 2018 with a pair of floor-monsters  on the illustrious KOMPAKT imprint. No doubt, a very notable contribution to the catalog of techno for 2018.

4. "SPACEWALKER" - MONGO [HIGH TIDE RECORDINGS]

The Southampton duo known as Mongo return to High Tide Recordings with yet another very impressive E.P. led by the ultra-captivating, title tune which they call "Spacewalker."

The best from Budapest, Jay Lumen kicked off the new year with this absolute belter which features a heavy dose of acid.

6. "BIPOLAR STAR (VICTOR RUIZ REMIX)" - OLIVIER GIACOMOTTO [NOIR MUSIC]

Olivier Giacomotto's 2015 masterclass in contemporary techno titled "Bipolar Star" gets a few updates including this standout. A meatier, more aggressive re-rub from the Brazilian underground star, Victor Ruiz

German duo, Monkey Safari land on the legendary Bedrock imprint armed with three forward-thinking, gold nuggets including this very seductive number they call "Antilog."

8. "BELLS OF THE REVOLUTION" - BART SKILS [DRUMCODE]

Drumcode regular, Bart Skils deservedly returns to the label with an assortment of techno goodies including the very hypnotic title tune, "Bells Of The Revolution" as featured here as one of the best tunes of January 2018.

9. "BRUSSELS" - CHARLOTTE DE WITTE [NOVAMUTE]

Charlotte de Witte's Brussels E.P. marks the third release since Novamute's official reboot this past October. Here it is in all it's pounding glory.

10. "WHISTLE" - LOCKED GROOVE [LOCKED GROOVE]

After a two-year hiatus, Berlin-based producer Locked Groove awakens his own imprint with a pair of cutting-edge tracks which I believe each deserve their own release. Nonetheless, we have two solid outings and here we feature the floor-friendliest of the two, titled "Whistle."

11. "LITTLE LOVE (FLOORPLAN REMIX)" - PRIMITIVE TRUST [AUS MUSIC]

Robert Hood and his daughter, Lyric team up as Floorplan for remixing duties on the latest Aus Music outing featuring Primitive Trust. A newly-formed duo consisting of label-boss, Will Saul and Tee Mango.

12. "RECALL 90" - SPEKTRE [KRAFTEK]

Think about the biggest kick-drum you've ever heard combined that with the biggest techno tune you may or may not recall from 1990 and you have yourself Spektre's "Recall 90" taken from his Another Life EP

13. "LUCIDE" - ANDRE WINTER [SENSO SOUNDS]
