Let the world’s smallest violins play for Fyre Festival Billy McFarland. Scam artist extraordinaire, douchebag and Fyre Festival founder has pled guilty to wire fraud charges in Manhattan federal court and could serve significant jail time.

“I deeply regret my actions, and I apologize to my investors, team, family and supporters who I let down,” McFarland told the US district judge Naomi Reice Buchwald in Manhattan according to The Guardian.

He says he wanted to organize “a legitimate festival,” but couldn’t have done a worse job.

For those of you who may have forgotten, Fyre Festival was the dumpster fire of a festival that promised to have models, big name artists, VIP accommodations and much more, but instead, left attendees stranded on an island with little food, water, tents, no models, booze or music. It is the case study in how not to throw a festival and eventually try and get away with scamming people.

As a result, he was sued to high heaven.

His sentencing is on June 21, my birthday. He faces eight to ten years in prison.
