Without a doubt, we can say that Miami Music Week was no joke. The non-stop parties that happen within walking distance of each other, the great vibes and weather that week, and special guests that play are what made traveling down so worth it.

Our first stop of the week was the Heldeep VS Monstercat event at Soho Studios. With headliners like Oliver Heldens, Seven Lions, and special guest Kaskade (albeit a 30-minute set), the boxing-themed event was a knock out.

On Thursday, we went to the "What We Started" Documentary premiere featuring Martin Garrix and Carl Cox. The documentary shared a basic, yet rich history of electronic dance music and included artists like Paul Oakenfold, Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, and many others to offer insight. The film, directed by Bert Marcus and Cyrus Saidi, generally exceeded our expectations for an EDM-focused documentary. For those new to the electronic music scene, we encourage you to watch this to appreciate the deeper layers of electronic music although we feel it just scratches the surface. We couldn't help but wonder what other amazing stories Carl Cox had in his arsenal to share.

Ultra kicked off on Friday and with it, many afterparties. We went to the Virtual Self show and it was 3 hours of pure high BPM trance that kept the dance floor moving long after the festival concluded its first day.
