Gorgon City released their ode to the Motorola at the beginning of the month. With a strong beat and vocals that bring a strong air of nostalgia, "Motorola" has been quite popular leading up to Miami Music Week. Now the single is getting the remix treatment and we are happy to premiere Max Chapman’s take on the single.
Max Chapman simplifies things on the remix, putting more emphasis on a jogging bass line filled with a strong kick, open hi-hats and varying percussion. He keeps the vocals and brings us back to a time before smart phones and endless distractions by asking for your number to be put in his Motorola.
“When the lads sent me the original mix of Motorola, I knew straight away that they had a big record on their hands, and when they asked me to remix it, I had a very clear direction that I wanted to take it in,” Max Chapman explains to Magnetic. “I’ve given the track a bit of a peak-time makeover with a real rolling groove, and of course the catchy hook (it’s still stuck in my head now). It’s been hitting the spot in my sets so I’m buzzing to finally see it released!”
The remix will be released tomorrow, March 23. Stream it below until then.
