Two days after the one year anniversary of its release, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN is getting its greatest award yet – a Pulitzer Prize. The celebrated rap album just won the Pulitzer Prize in Music.

The announcement was made during an event in New York City today. He is the first rapper to win a prize, which normally goes to classical and jazz composers and musicians.

Take a listen back to the album one more time and hell a few more after because it is an instant classic. Late, last year Kendrick also released the collector's edition of DAMN, which plays the album backwards, which he says is how it was meant to be played. He also executive-produced and starred on the soundtrack for Black Panther.
