Scottish DJ Calvin Logue is gearing up to release his new single “Less Is More” on Monday, April 23 via Spinnin Records. Yes that may seem odd for us, but it is actually a delightful piece of atmospheric techno.
The tune gets right to it from the first second with a bit of growling sub-bass that you will hear throughout the tune. The rumbling sub-bass is joined by some distant, reverbed percussion, a steady kick, open high hats and some spacey synths to make the arrangement simple, yet very effective. As the title says, less is more.
"It's such an incredible and inspiring feeling to see such major players on the techno scene including Kölsch and Adam Beyer support my music,” Logue tells Magnetic. “The name 'Less Is More' transpired from a lot of additional elements that were going on in the production process. Taking a stripped back, minimalistic approach is when the track began to flow and it started to finally come together."
“Less is More” will be released this Monday via Spinnin Records, who seem to be making a push into techno.
