FYF Fest has been canceled in 2018. The surprising move for one of Los Angeles’ largest multi-genre festival was reportedly because of slow ticket sales. It would have been its 15th year.

The festival was to be headlined by names such as Florence + The Machine, Janet Jackson, St. Vincent, The xx, Future, Skepta and others. Other names included Nils Frahm, Mount Kimbie, Bicep, Nina Kraviz, Yaeji & Daphni.

In a statement on their website, FYF said they were “unable to present an experience on par with the expectations of our loyal fans and the Los Angeles music community this year.” Instead of the festival, they will have some local shows instead.

Fans will receive an email shortly and refunds will be in 5-7 business days.

Bad news has been swirling around FYF for the past half-year. In November sexual assault and misconduct allegations were made against FYF Fest founder Sean Carlson. His share of the festival was bought out by Goldenvoice, who now owns the festival.

If the ticket sales were this slow, then they obviously felt they couldn’t sell enough between now and the end of August to recoup the amount of money invested in the fest.
