Chicago rapper ProbCause has teamed up with guitarist and producer duo Lembo on a new EP out in June and we have the first single titled “Don’t Look Down” from that project to premiere today.
The single works with ProbCause’s chameleon-like ability to glide between genres and mesh with the myriad of producers he works with. On “Don’t Look Down” he celebrates his accomplishments thus far, telling the world he is on his way up. His flow glides effortlessly over Lembo’s funky and smooth electronic beat that is at its best with irresistible guitar licks.
This new EP all came about after the trio collabed on ProbCause’s last project and they decided that it was time to do something bigger together.
“Lembo and I initially linked up to create the title track for my last project Distractions,” ProbCause explains to Magnetic. “The creative process was really smooth so we just kept building and creating more music. ‘Don’t Look Down’ was the second record we made and sparked the idea to create the whole EP."
For the 20-40 people who saw him at Music Hall of Williamsburg last summer during a local festival, Brooklyn Comes Alive, it would be welcome to hear a track like this and to see the see the recent success because likely the next time there will be close to a packed house.
“Don’t Look Down” will be released tomorrow, May 25 via Lowtemp The EP will be released sometime in June.
