This weekend tens of thousands of festival-goers will head to Lake San Antonio in Bradley, CA to experience the magic of Lightning In A Bottle. The festival, which first began as a private birthday party in 2000 is held annually on Memorial Day weekend. Over the years, it has transformed into a mecca of culture, music, and art. Lightning In A Bottle has become renowned for its unique, innovative, and beautifully designed stages along with its diverse workshop schedule and music lineup. The smaller stages such as the western-themed Grand Artique and pieces contribute to the festival's unique character. Lightning In A Bottle has also won awards as the most sustainable festival in North America.
This year's Lightning In A Bottle will feature sets from a diverse array of acts including Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, ZHU, GRiZ, Fever Ray, Sofi Tukker, Tune-Yards, Tokimonsta, Modeselektor, Emancipator, Sango, Giraffage, Clozee, Random Rab, Phutureprimitive, KRANE, The Black Madonna, Walker & Royce, Will Clarke, and Öona Dahl. It will also feature over 150 talks and discussions with world-renowned thought leaders, visionaries, and creatives as well as diverse workshops including yoga, movement, and meditation classes.
Co-founder Jesse Flemming’s had this to say about Lightning In A Bottle:
“We’re definitely not trying to play the same game we are seeing with all the massive festivals these days when we book our music programming. Forget the big names you can see at 10 other festivals this year. For us the goal is to craft a musical playlist that will perfectly guide people along the experience we’re trying to create. We book each stage to be its own separate journey on any given day and we try to diversify it as much as possible so when you’re wandering around during the weekend you can always find something just right for you. This has been our goal since day one and it continues to shape how we book today.”
