Trenton, New Jersey played host to the 24-hour Art All Night Festival from Saturday into Sunday, June 16 and June 17. It was tragically cut short after multiple people started shooting at each other, which left one person dead and another 22 people wounded.
One person, a 33 year-old, was killed and is believed to be one of the shooters according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri via NJ.com. A second shooter was taken into custody. The alleged gunman is believed to have been shot and killed by police.
It is unclear what started the altercation, but police believe to be unrelated to the festival. Investigators are looking at a possible carjacking near the festival that then spilled over into the festival according to CNN.
The 24-hour arts festival started at 3 p.m. Saturday was scheduled to go until 3pm on Sunday. It featured more than 1,500 live murals & graffiti, works of art, musical performances and a film festival.
