All of the work Facebook has put into licensing deals with music labels is starting to show. They have added music to Instagram stories, which will allow users to add songs to their stories like they would a sticker.
The user will then be able to browse through songs by mood, popular releases, genre and more. Once users pick a song, they can pinpoint the exact moment of the song they want to have play. So the most likely option would be the hook, but go for it if you want to do something a little different from your friends who will use the same 20 Drake lyrics from Scorpion.
The songs will be a part of the growing number of tracks licensed for this purpose and more by Facebook.
Facebook began doing the same thing in its own stories function, but I am not sure anyone actually posts to Facebook stories on purpose.
The new music feature is available in select countries now and will be expanded to more soon.
