Premiere: Photay Gives Jazzanova 'Rain Makes The River' Playful, Smooth Remix

The remix will be released on June 15. Jazzanova's new album The Pool will arrive on June 29.

New York City producer Photay has been tabbed to remix a new single from Alex Barck, Claas Brieler, Axel Reinemer, Jürgen von Knoblauch and Stefan Leisering better known as the DJ collective, radio presenters, music makers and production group Jazzanova. The new single “Rain Makes The River,” featuring Rachel Sermanni, will appear on the group’s upcoming album The Pool and in the lead up, they have asked Photay to make a remix that would work better in Jazzanova’s DJ sets.

Photay brings an extra element to the tune, stripping away many of the organic elements, making Sermanni’s voice sound a little more like Lana Del Rey, while adding playful key work that dances over soft, shuffling percussion.

The remix was inspired by those lyrics from Sermanni according to Photay.
