Superorganism broke onto the music consciousness with their debut, self-titled album out earlier this year on Domino Records. It brought a bit of everything from indie-pop, rock, psychedelic and some spoken word as well. It was strange, fun and soothing all in one album. It should be no surprised that the band, which has several members who produce, is being tapped for remix duties. French duo Polo & Pan has done just that with a remix for their track “Canopée.”
Superoganism do what they do best on this remix. They keep things fun and quirky, adding a breakbeat bassline to the track, while still keeping the summery, melodic feel from the original. The song feels like it got transported from Southern France, maybe lounging on the beach on Porquerolle, to a club in Paris.
Polo & Pan express a similar sentiment.
“We loved the fresh new breakbeat twist of Superorganism on 'Canopée.' A smooth transition for Mowgli from the tropical forest towards the urban jungle,” says the group.
The remix can be streamed below, but will be released tomorrow. If you can't see it click here. A deluxe edition of Polo & Pan's album Caravelle will be released on July 13 as they make a push outside of the French market.
