Everyone loves a classic record. Stardust’s classic track “Music Sounds Better With You” is being reissued and remastered for its 20th anniversary. Produced by Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter and Alan Braxe with Benjamin Diamond on vocals, the song was released back in 1998 and is considered one of the best and most well-known French house tracks of all time.
Braxe revealed the news in an interview with Billboard. He listened back to it and said it sounded “a bit old now.” They didn’t do much to the new version, but according to Braxe, “we did some very subtle compression, it sounds a bit like on the original 12-inch.”
“Music Sounds Better With You” was the only song ever released by Stardust. It was born out of a jam session at Paris’ Rex Club and released on Bangalter’s Roulé label. Stardust had more demos that could have been an album, but they never were released.
“It was something totally unexpected when the magic happened," he explains. "It happened once, and we thought, 'Let’s keep it like that.'”
