Richard Swift, a songwriter and producer, has died at the age of 41 in Tacoma, Washington. He was a touring member of The Black Keys in 2014 & played drums for The Arcs. He was in The Shins for six years from 2011 to 2016. The news was confirmed on Swift’s Facebook page with the quote “And all the angels sing ‘Que Sera Sera.’”
Last month it has been revealed that Swift had been hospitalized due to a “life-threatening” condition. A cause of death has not been revealed.
In addition to being a band member in various bands, he also released his own solo material and also produced for other artists like Foxygen, Guster, the Mynabirds, Sharon Van Etten.
Dan Auerbach also eulogized his friend and collaborator Swift on Instagram.
