It’s been a busy summer and it’s only just begun for Portland's Tony Ozier. At the end of June, Tony was rocking the Vancouver International Jazz Festival with Raashan Ahmad and last weekend, he took to the mainstage at the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival with his big band the Doo Doo Funk Allstars. Both were excellent shows celebrating the onset of festival season, or what Ozier likes to call “booty shakin’ season.”

Even better, Ozier just released a new song, "Close Encounter," which features a supergroup of Portland women artists. The band can be seen playing instruments in Ozier’s Robert Palmer-inspired video.

And check out Ozier’s alien-inspired YouTube video playlist for a peek inside the songs and videos that influenced the creation of "Close Encounter."
