Matt Lange has remixed the uplifting new song from recording artists and film scorers, Hybrid titled “Light Up.” Lange offers a subtle drum and bass remix that ups the tempo and brings the percussion into the forefront with some dark bass stabs.
Lange is still able to keep the emotion in the original, even turning it up several notches with some guitar at the beginning and long string notes. These help drive home the point made in Charlotte Truman's lyrics to remain positive, open and confident in yourself to better others, in addition your own life. As she says in the hook, “You light up the stars,” and then later, “you light up the world.”
"Light Up" is the first single to emerge from Hybrid’s fifth album Light Of The Fearless, set for release sometime this on July 29.
“'Light Up' is our first single from our new LP, Light Of The Fearless. We’re over the moon to have had a spanking new remix from a producer we’ve admired for some time, LA’s very own Matt Lange who turned in a bass heavy interpretation with glorious layers of intricate guitars and production," Hybrid tell Magnetic. "We’re equally thrilled to have Bristol drum & bass dons Loadstar drop a proper roller of a mix. The new single has been weaponized and ready to go."
Lange’s remix of "Light Up" will arrive tomorrow, July 13 via Distinctive Records alongside a Loadstar remix that is much heavier and in your face.
