A 19-year old man died after attending HARD Summer Festival this past weekend. Another 23 were hospitalized and two remained in the hospital as of yesterday.
According to Variety, Andrew Cole Click was taken to the hospital on Sunday and pronounced dead at 11:45 pm. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
"It is with great sadness that we have learned a festival attendee has passed away following HARD Summer this weekend. We extend our deepest sympathies to the individual’s loved ones, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts. The health and safety of those who attend our events is HARD’s utmost priority, and we take every measure to create a safe and enjoyable environment," a HARD spokesperson said in a statement. "We have no further information at this time, but we encourage the community to come together, support each other, and always look out for one another in light of this tragedy."
Over 81,500 festival-goers attended on Saturday and over 74,600 attended on Sunday. The sheriff’s department attributed the hospitalizations to the attendance and the high temperatures, which reached over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. However, one death is one too many. In 2016, In 2016, Roxanne Ngo died at age 22 from an apparent overdose and her parents have sued HARD Summer and Live Nation for negligence and wrongful death.
