Miami nightlife is losing one of its good clubs. The Electric Pickle has announced that it will close in June 2019. That may seem like a far ways away, but you know how everyone stupidly tweets at the beginning of the month that it is the beginning of the month, well time does pass faster than you might think. Also these types of good music institutions tend to be replaced by similar places less and less. Instead they become soulless glass condos, subways or bottle service clubs catering to horrible people.
The Electric Pickle this year has hosted some incredible and musical acts like Avalon Emerson, Helena Hauff, HOSH and Mark Farina. During MMW it was a place for the underground with Doorly’s Reptile Dysfunction’s party featuring Heidi Lawden, Butch and more, Justin Jay, Soul Clap House of Funk featuring Skream, Benji B and Todd Terry and their closing party with Jody Wisternoff, David Hohme, M.A.N.D.Y., Dude Skywalker and many more.
In a post on Facebook, the club owners said they won’t be renewing their lease next year, but did not give a reason why. There is hope for something else from them, as they note “we’re not done yet,” but after June 2019, The Electric Pickle will be gone.
