Saturday’s dusk was rather cool in Indianapolis, but little did fans at White River State Park know how much musical phenomenon Portugal. The Man would heat up the night. Portugal was opened by the up and coming L.A. trio Cherry Glazerr who set the mood perfectly with their fierce, yet soft sound, clearly showing their love for performing on the big stage.
Then Portugal The Man started off their show with an unusual touch - Beavis and Butt-head commentating one of their music videos soon followed by an untouchable cover of Metallica’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls.” Their set consisted of greatest hits including “Purple Yellow Red and Blue,” “Atomic Man,” of course their smash hit “Feel It Still” and concluded with “Sleep Forever.” Throughout each song the bands never stopped emitting energy onto the crowd. They scarcely took breaks, which made Portugal. The Man and Cherry Glazerr a well-rounded performance to watch. If either of these bands come to a town near you, don’t debate, go and be prepared to have a night you won’t forget.
