It is 808 day and the summer may feel like it is slipping away, but there is still plenty of time to feel those relaxing Balearic vibes before the season is over. Attempting to capture that feeling is something many try and do, but most fail, even on the Balearic Islands. We asked BREESE, the label head of Balearic Records, which puts out an annual compilation of, you guessed it, Balearic tracks for that summer island feeling. With the compilation on its way this Friday, we asked BREESE to give us the 15 most influential Balearic tracks of all time that could fit into any set, pre-game on an Island night or for the afterparty.
“Here are 15 beauties that shaped my Balearic journey. From bedroom DJ to Café Mambo Ibiza resident in the 2000’s, to the hedonistic summers spinning in Bali, though all the crazy clubbing years to now. I curate my own label, party and compilation series, attempting to capture the modernistic style of the indefinable genre,” says BREESE. “This playlist features a few tunes that featured in my 8 hour long, daily DJ sets on the sunset strip in San Antonio, sessions that have inevitably forged the path for the label and are definitely inspirited into Balearic 4.
