Jessica VerSteeg was born in Germany, but raised in the United States. Before getting into the marijuana business, she had a successful career as a model, going on to be Miss Iowa in 2014 and being on the Amazing Race. Then she launched AuBox, an upscale medical marijuana delivery service. However, trying to navigate the complex web of laws around the country between states, became a challenge she wanted to tackle with a new solution and thus she started Paragon. The company uses blockchain to provide stability to the cannabis industry in addition verification and legitimacy for dispensers, growers and others in the business. We had to get her in for Weedsday playlist, tabbing tracks from Doja Cat, DJ Khaled and more.
1. PHARAOH - ДИКО, НАПРИМЕР
I love the sound of his voice, the beat and how dream-like the video is. For those that don’t speak Russian if you hear the English word “sativa” and you think it is about weed you are right. He is saying, “I’m exhaling the sativa evaporation to the air.”
2. Doja Cat - So High
I think people like songs that express how they feel. I love the colors in the video… The voice is from another planet and it kind of takes you away, but I also love her lyrics, “When you put it on me. You relieve my stress. You got me so high. Takin' deep, deep breaths - You get me so high. I know you ain't a drug, But you get me so high,” because it is how I feel about my husband.
3. A$AP Mob - Yamborghini High ft. Juicy J
This video is ridiculously fun look to look at. It’s basically like taking LSD that only lasts 5 minutes and 12 seconds, I love videos that are different and free. Also I love that this video is a tribute to Steven "A$AP Yams" Rodriguez.
4. Mike Stud - Swish
I’ve been a fan of Mike for a while now. What I like about him is that he has own style and flows about anything in his life. All of the witty punchy lines in “Swish” are good examples on how great of a writer Stud is.
5. DJ Khaled - Wild Thoughts ft. Rihanna, Bryson Tiller
My three music queens are Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj and to no surprise all of them have some fire songs out right now. Beyonce with “Hold Up,” Rihanna with “Loyalty,” and Nicky with “No Frauds.” So I since I could not fit them all on this list I just chose the last 5 songs I played last night on Spotify. One thing I love about this song is the memories it brings back with the beats and guitar riffs of Santana’s “Maria Maria.” Rihanna has her way of making the melody completely her own with attitude and a sensual vocals. I feel a very Spanish theme coming to music, I mean look at what Justin Bieber dropped on us with “Despacito.”
