DJ Mag's 2017 Best Breakthrough DJ (North America) nominee, Brian Cid, is rising up to be one of the most promising techno artists of 2018 as he showcases his unique blend of techno at the Afterlife NYC/US debut at the Brooklyn Mirage this Saturday.
Brooklyn-based, Brian Cid has been dubbed "a producer's producer" with his new productions out in the music world. With a background as a multi-platinum audio engineering working with various stars in Hip Hop and Pop genres over the last decade, Brian Cid has spent the last couple of years joining the seedy underbelly of the techno world with his love for the nightlife by dropping some original productions that quickly found its way onto revered labels such as Knee Deep in Sound, Get Physical, Cityfox, Lost & Found and more. His tracks have been supported by techno titans such as, Richie Hawtin, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Adriatique, Tale of Us and favorited by various other genre headliners, Pete Tong, Lee Burridge, Damian Lazarus, and Thugfucker to name of few.
Like many other members of the industry who seek to contribute more than just production to the scene, Brian Cid; in collaboration with Stranger Than (Brooklyn-based event organizers), has launched a new label and event series this past Spring, ENDANGERED. The new label has more intent than just a safe place to host his own productions as well as those he favors as well. ENDANGERED will also exist as a concept series of events that will combine music with live performance and art.
"ENDANGERED is a full sensory experience that explores a 'near end of the world' scenario through high performance art, spacey visuals and eclectic dance music - one that resembles my own sonic style. ENDANGERED is more than a music label. It's an ideal, a movement, the ultimate form of artistic and spiritual expression."
Brian Cid has launched his new label with the release of his 'Intriga' EP which has already seen support by Tale of US, Richie Hawtin, Damian Lazarus, Pete Tong and many more. He continues his contribution to the music scene with a new track out, "Lose Sight," out on Coyu's Suara label, a new remix of Henry Saiz and Band's "Me Llama Una Voz" and a new mix out on Deep House Amsterdam from earlier this summer. Apparently, this was not enough activity for Brian Cid because he is also relaunching Audiofly's Supernature label with his new EP, Siente La Magia on September 21st!
There's no limit for this ambitious producer and his DJ's skills are worth the listen this Saturday at Afterlife NYC; the US debut at the Brooklyn Mirage! To give you a small taste of what's to come, Brian Cid has prepared an exclusive 8-track playlist of his top picks for Magnetic Magazine:
